Welcome to the Home of the 16th Annual Outdoor Extravaganza!

Memorial Day Weekend May 25-28,2012

Where: Base Camp at Breakneck Campground
(Near McConnell's Mill & Moraine State Park)

We have a weekend full of various outdoor activities: Trail, road & mountain biking, canoeing or kayaking on lakes and streams, rafting, rock climbing, sailing, horseback riding, nature walks, various levels of hikes as well as historical and fun excursions.

Besides outdoor trips, we will have workshops such as Birding, Building Your Own Sailboat, Making & Playing a Can-jo, Wildflower Project, Nature Photography, Yoga, Long Distance HIking/Running and Dead Fish Polo (a canoe game). Kids Fun Workshops and Family Activities will also be planned. There's excursions to historical places such as Harmony, Old Econmy Village, museums, working grist mill,and historic oil pump demo. Bike ride planned through an area rich in history and geology.

Breakneck Campground is base camp. Workshops and trips begin 9:00 AM each day and leaders will escort you to where trip takes place. Breakfasts, bag lunches, dinner and camping provided, but optional.

Friday evening weiner roast picnic will be followed with a campfire and Jim Sorenson playing guitar as he sings his original songs with his own composed music, along with campfire songs, accompanied by Paul Henry. Saturday evening "Pig Roast" will be followed by Jerome Winsek and his new grass-folk group "The Old Hats...not old, but a young enthusiastic group with a blend of unique styles. Sunday evening, meet Harry Schmeider, the "happy man" and you won't go away without smiling after his presentation of "Hummingbird Happiness ", learning everything you could possibly learn and see with hummingbirds!
